Window on the Plains MuseumFounded in 1976, the Moore County Historical Museum has been a cornerstone of our community’s history and culture. Originally located in the ballroom of a historic hotel, the museum found its permanent home in 2001 and was officially renamed Window on the Plains Museum.
Our exhibits span a wide range of topics, offering visitors a window into the past with displays that highlight the region’s farming and ranching heritage, business and industry, family life, and wildlife. In addition to these extensive collections, we house a research and archives center that serves as a resource for those seeking to explore the area’s history in greater depth. For five decades, we’ve been committed to preserving the local history while creating educational programs and exhibits that bring the past to life. As we look forward to the next 50 years, we invite you to join us in ensuring that our mission continues for generations to come. |
